How To Find Your Treasure Within And Celebrate Your Greatness

Never give up...

After my sister had experienced a life changing event, she found herself sleeping on my sofa. At the time she was feeling pretty low. She had low self-esteem and low self-confidence. This was largely to do with her previous relationship, and felt like she was starting life all over again .

But still, she was determined to stand on her own two feet again. Every day she’d wake up and hit the laptop to search for jobs. In the beginning, she was scouring for coffee shop roles, cleaning, and retail assistant roles . Now don’t get me wrong, there is absolutely nothing wrong with anyone who works in either role, but you see, the reason she was searching for those roles was because she felt like that was all she was capable of doing. She wasn’t willing to look at anything over minimum wage because she didn’t think that anyone would be willing to pay her any more than that .

Don't Give Up on Your Greatness...

Each day she’d find a job description, open up her CV, and as any great CV should be, she started to tailor it to each job that she applied for. This meant she had to rewrite quite a bit of it (all true stuff). She had to come up with examples for each of the things the job description was asking for.

CV number one was complete, and she felt accomplished, and off she sent it . CV two complete, and she started to build momentum. No responses back thus far, but she was taking action, and she was starting to feel those feelings of hope that life was about to get better .

Your Treasure Exists Within...

What she and I started to notice though, was that after each application, she started to gain more and more self-belief and self-worth. This was because she was continually being asked to demonstrate how amazing she was, and she had to come up with the goods. She was forced to look at all the treasure that she’d been denying existed.

After application ten, she started to realise that she could do so much more than she first anticipated, and actually turned down a job offer at a coffee shop , as well as another role. This was with the utter belief that she had more to give, which was worth way more than any of those jobs were offering.

She started to apply for higher paying roles which demanded more skill. After over 30 job applications, a few interviews. After digging up her treasure on a daily basis, and blowing her own trumpet , she landed a job at a reputable organisation on more money than she ever thought possible. She would be doing things that she’d always thought she couldn’t do, or was too scared to attempt .

All because she celebrated her greatness!

Celebrate Your Greatness...

Make time to celebrate your wins and blow your own trumpet.

Action:

  • Pick someone you admire that you aspire to be 'like'.
  • Now write out their 'job' description including responsibilities and person specification.
  • Now apply for it by creating your CV to demonstrate why you're the best person for the job!
You'll soon see that you have way more GOLD than you give yourself credit for!

One of the biggest reasons people fail to take opportunities and risks and fail to invest in themselves and their future is that...'I'm scared it won't work'.

This truly upsets me, because they've forgotten something very important...

Have You Forgotten As Well?

You've forgotten that...

  • You have everything you need right now to start the journey to success. That every successful person started exactly where you are right now. Each faced their own set of challenges. In the words of Gary V 'everyone thinks their sh#t is the sh#t'. No matter how privileged or underprivileged you think you are, we all face challenges and difficulties in equal measures. It's about accepting the hand you've been dealt and doing the BEST you can with it.
  • Success is a choice. You choose to keep going, to get help, to work hard. It's your choice to make sacrifices, to take AND create the opportunities that will get you to where you want to be and to throw the towel in when it gets tough.
  • Fundamentally you are entitled to success just as much as the next person. My most successful clients were told they would struggle and couldn't do it. They were failing miserably at the time we started working together. Success does not breed success, failure breeds success. That is, if you choose to see it that way. You have just as much right to embrace success as the next person.
  • You were on a mission to help other people and that in fact your fear is impacting those that need you most. You've got all caught up in the fear of looking stupid and a failure to those around you. And the sad fact is those people whose thoughts you care about so much, do not matter. Those that need your help matter. Whether you're helping people to finally lose weight that has been crippling them in health and mindset. Helping people to get clear on their journey and become the captain of their own ship. Helping people to create wealth, or reach a better place in their lives... you're here to change lives!


Don't Let The Fear Take Over...

  • Whatever it is that you started out wanting to achieve, being fearful is not only holding you back from fulfilling your greatness, but it's leaving a void for all those that need you the most. 
  • People who are scared it won't work sidestep through life. Taking opportunities, but not the ones that take them forward, Instead they take the ones that take them to something different, something easier. Less scary, less risky.
  • If you let the fear take over, this will be you for the rest of your life. Remember your mission. Remember your 'why' and start taking steps forward.
  • Believe in yourself, because you have more power, more control and more resources around you than you truly know.

High-Ticket Selling – There are Two Types of People, which one are you?

There are some people that get excited by charging high ticket and there are some that get scared...

Which one are you?

***And if you get excited, is it for the right reasons?

i.e. high cash injections into your business, finally being able to focus on your clients high-transformation, attracting high-paying committed clients, being able to finally spend time growing your tribe without the worry of when you'll next get paid to cover your costs.

***Or are you one of those 'out of integrity' type of people who try and get away with overcharging?

Because that is the exact reason people get so worried and scared about charging high-ticket prices.

Worried?

I'm going to call out the two HUGE things that worried me when I first started out, and all the things that my clients have said to me the past...

'What if people don't find what i'm offering valuable enough or worth that amount and ask for their money back?'

'And even if they pay, why would someone pay someone like me that amount?'

Truthbomb!

Let me give it to you straight...

  • People who pay more get better results. The higher price doesn't just benefit you. It benefits your clients on a MUCH larger scale. They are more committed, more determined, more ambitious and more action taking.
  • If you're able to sell at a high-level, yes they have expectations, but these high-paying clients aren't stupid. They will have complete trust and faith in you. So unless you're genuinely trying to shaft someone and you're lying to them, they wouldn't be paying you those large sums unless they had complete confidence in you.
  • And on the 'why me?' note, why not you? What makes you less worthy than the next person. You wouldn't be on this journey unless you knew deep down you had something incredible to offer people.
  • High-end clients aren't 'better' than you. They just have a problem that they need solving, and here's the real Truthbomb...They WANT to pay what's necessary for it. If the problem is that bad, or the ambition, that strong, they don't want to half arse it. They want it sorted. They don't want to be chucking money down the drain.

The Answer...

Giving Out Free Advice? Then Know Your Boundaries

'Are You Taking The P*ss!' - They Will If You Let Them...It's all About Boundaries... 

A fair few of my clients have become friends and a few of my friends have become clients AND many people in my network who were neither, but, could use my services have also become incredible friends.

And this is where it can get dangerous for your business if you don't have boundaries. Because if you're not careful you'll become a friend with business benefits.

How many of us have had our brains picked over coffee?

We've all experienced this and it doesn't feel great and we can sometimes feel like that person has taken advantage.

But here's the #truthbomb...

...It's got nothing to do with them...but It has everything to do with you!

you don't set boundaries with yourself and you don't arm yourself with ways to respond to requests for free help then you will almost certainly have your services stolen from you.

...It's your responsibility to prepare yourself for these requests and situations.

Now the other side of the coin is - you may WANT to give away some stuff for free because you adore them...

BUT I want you to ask yourself this...

...is that fair to your paying clients? And is that person going to truly value what you are offering them?

I say feel free to give pointers but know where the line is and be prepared to 'handle' the situation.

Here are a couple of ways you could handle the situation...

  • Random prospect brain picking request - 'I'd be happy to chat through whether I'm the best person to help you with this, and I charge X to help my clients achieve 'X result' let me know if you'd like to chat and I'll send you a call link.
  • Someone you know on friendly terms asking for your help - 'I'm really excited that you're looking to move in that direction, I think that it's a great idea! I'd love to brainstorm some ideas with you, moving forward in terms of implementation I'd be happy to chat through formally working together if that's something you'd like to explore.'
  • OR if it's a more direct ask - 'Totally happy to chat through some ideas with you (if indeed you are -if not omit this part) but in terms of helping you implement for free, it just wouldn't be fair to my paying clients.'

So the lesson is...

Know your boundaries, stick to them and enforce. If they're professionals themselves they'll respect them and you. AND - you'll be helping them own and respect their own boundaries and value in the process. Because the truth is... if they truly value it, they'll pay for it.
There's a big difference between offering friendly support and actually taking someone through a process.

Big Fish Inadequacy – How I Overcame Comparison Paralysis

Do You Feel Inadequacy? 

It's easy to look at everyone else and feel small in comparison (deadly easy), especially the big fish who have all the fancy stuff. I used to look at the big stars with...

  • the team to catch them talking off the cuff in a professional interview.
  • the editing pro who makes all their content look like it's been through Hollywood production.
  • the slick filming crew and amazing public speaking talent.
  • the customer service team who show up to help out with tech issues.

And part of me felt seriously inadequate, like 'who is going to listen to me in comparison to that!'

Truthbomb...

The thing is, none of those things REALLY matter, really they don't.

They only mattered to me because that's where I wanted to be. It didn't really matter to my ideal clients.

The only thing that matters to your clients is that they get help solving their problem and achieving their goals. That's it!

Now I DO believe in making things as amazing as you possibly can, with what you have, to give a great impression and build trust as an expert. And if you look at my old content compared to my new content you will see a marked improvement. But the old content still impacted and helped so many people, and I still made a ton of money back then.

I can't keep track of the countless 'polished' productions/articles that really don't contain any real value! They look impressive but they're lacking in substance.

So The Simple Answer Is...

If you're going to go all out making something amazing, the ONE thing that you can guarantee will win over all the fancy stuff, is 'amazing value'. Helping your prospects solve and move forward.

Make that your priority first and foremost and the other stuff will come. People appreciate raw, real and valuable content.

The world aint seen nothin yet!

Feeling Inadequate About Your Sales? It’s Time to Learn ‘WHEN’ to Feel Out of Integrity…

In The Beginning...

When I first started out coaching, I saw everyone talking about how much money they had made that day/week/month as a kind of badge of approval. It was as if they were saying 'I'm clearly good at what I do because I'm making a ton of money'

This left me feeling super inadequate because quite frankly, the first 6 months of my business were drier than the Gobi desert. Don't get me wrong I was making some sales but they were super inconsistent and the longer it got between clients the more inadequate I would feel. 'How can people trust me to help them if I'm not making the kind of money I want to be making.'

A big lesson I had to learn in my business journey is to know 'WHEN' to feel out of integrity. 

This may sound strange but hear me out...

...back then, I wasn't helping people make sales. So why was I getting so caught up in how many sales I was making?!!!!

Check Yourself...

  • Are you feeling out of integrity for entirely the wrong thing?
  • What result does your client really want? It's not ALWAYS sales or money! I even see Health Coaches getting caught up with the 'I feel out of integrity because I'm not making sales.'

#Truthbomb...

 A Health Coach doesn't need to be good at sales in order to help their clients! They need to be good at sales for the sake of their business but just because they're not securing clients does not mean they can't help their clients & does not take away from how awesome they really are.

Unless you're helping people make sales as the main result of your coaching/service... it's time to let that sh*t go!

Or, Maybe You Should Be Feeling that way...

And if you are promising sales as a result and you're not making them yourself then yes you 'should' feel out of integrity BUT you can do something about it...

Stop promising sales! And fine-tune your niche and ideal client so that you can start helping with something slightly different that will act as a bridge 'toward' the sales.

That's when you know you weren't working in your zone of genius. The zone of genius is a place of free flowing amazingness, not struggle and hard slog. It's what you could do all day every day and never feel that heaviness.

When you follow your joy, bliss and passion you can't go wrong...

When you work from your zone of genius in accordance with your 'why', success is assured!

Finding it just means following your joy and what lights you up both from your history and what you see in your future.

Apply your zone of genius to your why and a physical specific representation of that why and you have a great potential business!


Even if you don't feel like you're an expert in it YET, the passion that you hold for it will ensure and spark the action that you need to take to become one in no time.

How to Only Work with Your Ideal Client

Only work with ideal clients by using boundaries...

Did you know that there's a HUGE difference between the ideal client that we write down on paper to the ideal clients we paint in our minds? And indeed the ideal clients we encounter in the real world...

Why is this?

When we start to map out who our ideal client is, we're playing in hypothetical mode. We tend to be brave and courageous when it comes to mind mapping who they are and they're these awesome human beings who kick ass and shit rainbows - well not quite the latter part but they are 'dream' clients who you're so excited to work with.

BUT when we return to our minds we add a new dimension to them based upon previous clients, the less than average prospects who tell you you're too expensive, and the fears and assumptions that we make for ourselves.

  • 'My ideal client can't afford me!'
  •  'My ideal client won't pay that!'
  • ' My ideal client doesn't need 'ME'!'
  • 'This ideal client is way out of my league.'

Then we start to veer off track from the person we want to work with, to the person who's an easier target.

We slip into working with people who are less than ideal, who aren't in the place we want them to be at but are 'easy' (so you think) to help. And you start to bend the rules on pricing and all those 'so called' non negotiable qualities you said they had to have.

First of all, remember that the ideal client on paper was a promise to yourself and your business and if you're not willing to respect that, who else is going to respect you and your business?

When you work with clients you don't want to work with, it disrespects them as much as it disrespects you!

If you've been struggling to attract high-end Ideal Clients...

If you've been struggling to gain momentum with high-end clients, check your mindset.

When we brainstorm our ideal client on paper, we work in a hypothetical manner and we suspend disbelief. But when it comes to walking the talk we start creating a different kind of ideal client in our minds.

The kind that's on the back foot, that doesn't see our value and worth, and we start to imagine them being out of our league.

That poison is enough to repel them before you've even started a discussion. More than that, these are false assumptions created by the gremlins in your head!

Stop making assumptions

Stop making assumptions that people won't pay your prices or that your amazing ideal clients aren't around at the moment. 

The right people are waiting for you to step up and own your worth AND your boundaries.

And remember, if you were a respectable coachee that needed help at the level you now 'WANT' to coach your clients in... there are others out there too who equally wants a coach that's exclusively for the right person.

Respect your boundaries and the promise you made to yourself and keep doing the mindset work on 'who' you want to work with.

Don't slip into making assumptions and attracting the WRONG kind of client... what you resist persists.

Repeat after me: I am worthy of working with amazing clients!

Top mindset tips...

Own your greatness!

  • Start a testimonial file if you haven't already to remind yourself of the many people you've helped at the level below and how you've helped them step up to a new level.
  • Remind yourself of how far you've come - you've made leaps and bounds in your journey so far, why would that stop?
  • It's uncomfortable for a reason, you're growing.
  • Instead of looking at why your ideal client is 'out of your league' start focusing on what they're going through and how you can help.
  • Don't make it about you, make it about how you can help them.
