One of the biggest blocks to success is your confidence issues.
When I work with people one to one, it becomes very obvious that on some level they have been sabotaging themselves because they lack confidence in being able to deliver what they’re promising OR too afraid to promise anything substantial due to being unconfident in their abilities and/or out of integrity with the outcomes.
Take Mavis for example (names have been changed for protection purposes although I would love a client named Mavis!) …
-Mavis came to me saying she didn’t know what to call herself as she had recently branched out in a few directions and didn’t know how to pull it all together.
-She had 3 programs, one of which she didn’t feel excited to run again after running it once already because she didn’t feel 100% aligned to the content.
-She was feeling like she wasn’t serving her clients in the best way she could even though she was giving them what they were asking for!
-She was struggling to offer anything in the first place because of a lack of confidence in the outcome she was saying she could help them with and dreaded getting clients even though she really wanted them!
Not the best place to be considering Mavis had an incredible talent and knowledge that could change the trajectory of struggling businesses and she was sitting on untapped gold and charging way below her worth to try and keep her prospects ‘happy’!
It became very apparent that she was trying to teach the things that she thought people would buy rather than what she was actually aligned and qualified to teach!
My first thought was – well done for thinking with a business mindset BUT bad news for your confidence, sales and customer satisfaction!
When it comes to creating a product that sells, yes it’s important to bear in mind what people want, but it’s also important to stay in your lane. It’s not about selling the things that everyone wants to buy or even the things that ‘most’ people want to buy, it’s about selling the thing that you are most ‘qualified’ (I don’t mean paper quals) to help with, to the specific people that want and need it. Including weeding out the numpties who want everything for nothing!
Our session went as follows…
-We set about making a list of all the things that she didn’t like or feel confident to teach and we removed them from the table! Instant confidence boost!
-We set about tightening her niche so that she spoke ONLY to the right people and fine-tuned it so that she felt absolutely amazing to position herself as such because it’s in alignment with HER OWN zone of genius!
-We set about rejigging and aligning her offerings to the RIGHT clients so that her audience knew if those offerings were right for them or not! Instant confidence and clarity boost!
-We set about tweaking her offerings, looked at how we positioned them to her audience plus how they were going to be delivered so that …
a) her prospects desired the packages for what they were designed to achieve. This meant gaining clarity on her ideal clients and defining the big juicy desired outcome that she was at first too scared to offer (until we worked on re-framing her mindset of course)
b) the packages were set to be delivered in the time it takes to get them that result, not the rigid timescales that everyone else’s packages dictated nor the timescales that ‘some people’ wanted or assumed it would take!
c) the packages delivered both wants AND needs, so that they over-delivered and provided them with all the necessary tools to create a successful outcome! Not just delivering the ‘quick magic pill’ that everyone wants that only gives half the answer!
d) they were priced appropriately for the energy expended and results of the packages, instead of delivering a package that cut corners on time and effort so that it could be priced cheaply that only truly spoke to the cheap magic pill hunters, which by the way is your worst nightmare of a client!

Mavis left that intensive session ready to rock her new products and couldn’t wait to deliver to them!
